City Action is a free volunteering brokerage service linking City-based businesses with community organisations and social enterprises in the City and neighbouring boroughs. As skills-sharing experts we work closely with our members to facilitate high impact, mutually beneficial volunteering opportunities and partnerships.
City Action hosts regular knowledge sharing events for our members to raise awareness and understanding between businesses and community organsiations.
City Action has been in operation since 1998 and is part of the Corporate Responsibility team at the City of London Corporation. Please note that we do not facilitate team challenge volunteering.

Freeview provide free-to-air digital TV channels, radio stations and interactive services. They were introduced to us here at St Luke’s Community Centre in August 2011 by City Action and have been working in partnership with us ever since.read more
LCH Clearnet works together with Baytree Centre to mentor a young person
I volunteer at the Lambeth-based Baytree Centre on a programme to support parents. Baytree’s families are refugees, asylum seekers and migrants struggling to find their feet in London. I mentor a 10 year old girl for one hour a week, focusing on her academic and personal development.read more

Hoxton Hall is an arts centre and social enterprise situated in the heart of East London. After a City Action community tour in February 2012 one of the business attendees, Withers, offered us a presentation skills training session to improve our confidence when delivering to a corporate audience.read more

CME Group partners with Lambeth college to raise aspirations
CME Group is a derivatives marketplace. In early January 2012 our first, eagerly anticipated, London-based volunteering partnership began. City Action facilitated an introduction with Career Academies, who in turn connected us with Lambeth College to help raise the aspirations and employability skills of their students.

The Lord Mayor's Dragon awards are now open for applicaitons until 23 May 2014.
Winning a Dragon Award gives your business a chance to demonstrate your community engagement achievements with suppliers, clients and competitors and say thank you to your employee volunteers. For community organisations it's a chance to demonstrate to businesses that you are a fantastic partner to work with.
Making the application and attending applicant workshops are free of charge. All applicants also receive a complimentary seat at the Awards dinner at the Mansion House on 1 October which is a fantastic opportunity to network with businesses looking for their next community partner.
