Corporate Policy on Engaging Corporate Clients
City Action works with City companies helping them shape their corporate volunteering programme by providing information on: the needs and requirements of local community organisations; the availability of projects in our target boroughs; and by sharing current thinking on employee volunteering programmes.• Our core focus for engagement is organisations which are located in the Square Mile, particularly the financial and business service sectors.
• Regarding companies outside the Square Mile that contact City Action, priority will be given to those organisations involved in international finance and related business services.
• We aim to build lasting relationships with all our clients by understanding their employee volunteering programmes and finding ways in which City Action can support their corporate aims and objectives.
• Acknowledging that the City Action team is small, we will endeavour to accommodate our corporate clients’ requests for team challenges wherever possible. Preference, however, will be given to firms actively engaging in the provision of professional expertise, and we will limit the number of team challenges arranged as appropriate. We recognise that team challenges are a good way of introducing employee volunteering, however feedback from our community partners suggests that they benefit tremendously from the transfer of skills, experience and knowledge and that this is best achieved via ‘professional expertise’ volunteering.
