When promoting employee involvement, it is important to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to take part in activities whatever their background or skills.

The great thing about volunteering is that everyone has something to offer. With this in mind, City Action offers a wide range of opportunities including:

Team Challenges

A team of volunteers undertake a one day task to assist a community organisation.

Tasks can range from practical jobs such as decorating and gardening, to organising outings and activities for service users or running an enterprise workshop in a local school.

Many community organisations are open to suggestions for team activities, so let us know if you have something particular in mind!

What are the benefits for a volunteer?

• Team challenges are a great way of bringing staff together and raising morale
• Provide a great introduction to volunteering
• Excellent way for companies to establish closer links with their surrounding communities
• Make a valuable difference in a short space of time

Things to consider

• We ask that a small budget be donated for team challenges: around £25 per volunteer. This goes directly to the community organisation to covers costs such as tools / equipment, supervision, transport for outings etc. Community organisations simply do not have the funds to cover these costs themselves, nor have they the resources in terms of available staff.
