The Lord Mayor’s Dragon Awards
The Lord Mayor's Dragon Awards 2008 are now open for applications. To download an application form and more information about the awards, please click here: The Lord Mayor's Dragon Awards »The Lord Mayor’s Dragon Awards encourage organisations across London to become involved in the social and economic regeneration of their local communities.
All applicants are invited to a celebratory dinner, hosted by the Lord Mayor, at the Mansion House. The dinner serves as an opportunity for businesses, public offices and their community partners to discuss best practice and to forge new partnerships. Of course, importantly, it is also the time when winners of the Dragon Awards are announced. Winners receive a dragon statuette, use of the Dragon Awards logo, local and national press coverage, and public recognition from their peers and competitors.
In 2007 the awards programme attracted 57 entries and nominations from companies and their community partners, of which 19 were short-listed. City Action would like to congratulate client Swanke Hayden Connell Architects for winning the Heart of the City Award!
City action encourages all of its clients to apply for a Dragon Award in 2008. The awards scheme provides a valuable opportunity for you to not only receive further internal and external support for your community work but also to help increase publicity for your community partners. While businesses can apply directly for an award, community partners also have the opportunity to nominate business partners for an award.
