City Action is going on a Summer Tour!
We would like to invite you to our Summer Community Tour to Islington on Thursday 31st July 2008 from 8.30am - Midday.Despite featuring the trendy Old Street and leafy Highbury this borough also boasts a number 8 ranking of most deprived areas in England...
Leaving at 8.45am sharp from the Guildhall (EC2) we will introduce you to three interesting and diverse charities which highlight some great opportunities to get involved as well as give you an insight into the day to day challenges they face in supporting their local communities:
Body & Soul - a charity dedicated to improving the lives of local children, teens and parents who are affected by HIV, through supporting their physical, mental and emotional health and well-being.
Freightliners Farm - a small farm in an urban setting providing the opportunity for local individuals and groups to learn from and interact with the environment and each other through animal care, horticulture and sustainable practices.
Angel Shed Theatre Company - an inclusive performing arts charity which runs workshops for children and young people from 7 to 16 years of age who attend either ‘mainstream’ or ‘special’ schools but who work together in performing arts workshops and performances.
If you would like to attend please do not hesitate to contact the City Action team on 0207 332 1762 or via email
Please note places are currently limited to one person per company on a first come first served basis. However, do let us know the details of any colleague you would like to bring with you and we will put them on the reserve list for surplus places.
