CITY.COMM

CITY.COMM provides information, support and networking opportunities for voluntary and community groups in the City of London, to help them achieve their aims and objectives; share ideas, skills and experience; and influence local policy-making and planning.

Lord Mayor's Dragon Awards

The Lord Mayor's Dragon Awards celebrates Corporate Community Involvement in London. Since they were founded in 1987, the Dragon Awards have attracted high quality applications from a variety of companies and public bodies throughout Greater London. Dragon Award winners recognise both the social and business benefits of being good corporate citizens.

All applicants are invited to an annual awards ceremony hosted by the Lord Mayor at the Mansion House. This prestigious event presents a chance for applicants to share experiences and innovative practices in Corporate Community Involvement. It is an opportunity to find out more about ways in which London-based businesses are actively helping to fight social exclusion and build stronger communities.

Heart of the City

Heart of the City provides FREE support for businesses wanting to develop or expand their existing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. Regardless of your company's size, sector or CSR experience we can support and advise you on:

  • What CSR actually involves (community, environment, diversity, employee wellbeing, responsible procurement)
  • Developing and implementing a CSR Programme
  • Maintaining the momentum of your existing CSR activities
  • How to measure and communicate success

iT4Communities

iT4C is the national IT volunteering programme introducing IT professionals who want to volunteer their skills to charities needing IT help. Charities can register their requirements online with iT4C and IT professionals can search for suitable volunteering opportunities by location, project details and type of charity.

LawWorks

LawWorks is an independent charity and is the working name of the Solicitor’s Pro Bono Group. The charity exists to encourage and support solicitors to carry out pro bono work (for free), and runs several projects to encourage solicitors to do this, and to provide free legal support to individuals, communities and small voluntary organisations who are unable to afford or access legal advice.

Trustees Unlimited

Trustees unlimited is a joint venture between Bates, Wells & Braithwaite, NCVO and Russam GMS and it is a solution to the problem many not for profit organisations face - trying to recruit high quality trustees in a rigorous and yet cost effective way. Whether volunteers are looking to serve on a Board, or whether community organisations are looking to strengthen their board, Trustees Unlimited can help. All partners are committed to good governance in the sector and believe that brokering the relationship between high quality trustee candidates and organisations is an essential part of developing a vibrant, dynamic and diverse sector that is ready to meet the challenges ahead.
